Innovative Molecular Research for Tomorrow's Cancer Cures
It is with the greatest pleasure and a deep-seated commitment to conquer the ravages of cancer, that I welcome you to the "Inner Circle of People," who are as committed as I am to defeat and conquer cancer, as we know it. This effort is a culmination of four years of hard work and deliberation of how best to help eradicate cancer from the human body including my own, which was discovered by some very astute doctors, in the late spring of 2002. After being told, by a well-meaning internist that what was ailing me was allergies, I was soon to find out that Hodgkin's Lymphoma as well as Metastatic Papillary Follicular Thyroid Carcinoma had found a new home inside of Sharon Parker.
At the recommendation of Dr. Goy, my oncologist, one of my first real projects on the road to recovery was to write the story of what had happened to me. The result is; "Look Out Cancer...Here I Come!" whose purpose is to share a positive yet practical, intimate and frank discussion with the reader, as, to how, family, friends and some of the best and brightest doctors' in the world can help you through the most difficult time of your life; not only to defeat the cancers but to come out a winner after all.
The Life Lover ® Foundation, which accepted its first donations in early January of 2006, will receive all profits from "Look out Cancer...Here I Come!:" however much more help is needed. Unlike other worthwhile charitable endeavors, the Life Lover Foundations' mission is specific in nature - to fund new and novel research projects in cancer therapeutics. Some of these research efforts will study molecular ID Cards of tumors, which will predict responses and give cancer researchers an opportunity to study the best treatment options. Since its purpose is direct and singularly focused, we can accomplish our goal to fund what is deemed to be the most innovative and cutting-edge ideas, by researchers, which seem to hold merit and deserve testing and trial to establish the efficacy of the project.
A group of well-respected cancer researchers will look at all the proposals that come forward and as the donations come into the foundation, the grants will be dispersed. Among the first grants to be awarded will be to the new Tumor Bank currently being developed at the HUMC Cancer Research Center's Genomic Project, at Hackensack, New Jersey. Dr. Andre Goy believes that personalized medicine and Genomic research is the right road to giving cancer patients new hope and a longer life no matter.
I hope you will become a, partner in helping to fund those specific research projects that offer the most promise for a healthier today - leading to a brighter tomorrow. Please send your donation, whatever amount, and let us put it to the best possible research endeavor, no matter where it might be. Together we will join the effort to wipe cancer away, one-step at a time.

Thinking back to when all this began, it was Dr. Robert Press, a dear friend and NYU infectious Disease Specialist, who urged me to come to New York, from Charleston. SC, to find out exactly what was ailing me. He and a team of esteemed colleagues, including Dr. Kenneth Hymes at the NYU Cancer Center were the first to share that I had cancer.
At Sloan Kettering, where I went for a second opinion, it was Dr. Andrew Zelenetz who carried on extensive tests to be positive of exactly what I had and how extensively the disease had spread. In retrospect it was he who so wisely suggested that it would be better to live in close proximity to the hospital and the emergency room, as I would go through cancer treatment Not having that option in New York City he asked me where my children lived?
When I mentioned Houston, he suggested I see Dr. Andre Goy, so that I could have the support of my family and be seen by another world-renowned oncologist. It. was Dr. Goy and the team of outstanding pathologists at MD Anderson, who shared with me that they saw two unrelated cancers, besides a :meningioma on my occipital parietal lobe, which had already been discovered in 1996 - that they would monitor. He did it with such a positive spirit that I knew deep within that if anyone could give me back my life, it was he. This Foundation is dedicated to the "Dr. Andre Goys'" all over the world, whose drive and determination to eradicate cancer as we know it, gives us the greatest chance for a long and healthy life.
